What is SIBO?
Usually, our large intestine has normal flora comprised of bacteria, fungal, archaie species that keeps our gut healthy & we have a symbiotic relationship with the gut flora. In general, small intestine has very minute amount of bacteria,
But, when Abnormal number of bacteria are present in the small intestine it can lead to SIBO, which impact your digestion & bowel movements.
- These are normal bacteria, usually found in the large intestine. Pathobionts, not Pathogens
- These bacteria ferment starches and fibers into gases that damage the SI and cause much symptoms
